Service Overview
What does a professional wedding MC do?
A professional wedding MC guides your reception from the first welcome to the final farewell — managing transitions, pacing the program, supporting speakers, and keeping the room connected throughout.
Nathan Cassar is an award-winning, cruise-ship trained MC and event host operating across Sydney and Australia, offering one complete wedding MC experience that covers planning support, reception flow design, vendor coordination, and warm, polished hosting.
You are not paying for someone to hold a mic. You are paying for your wedding to be smooth, stress-free, and remembered for years to come.
What couples say about their reception with Nathan
Amy Turner
We were originally going to just ask a friend to MC our wedding reception. When our venue provided us with a list of trusted/recommended vendors, we saw Nathan listed as an MC, so we thought we would just check out his website and socials. Straight away we loved the energy, passion, and professionalism that we could clearly see, so we took a leap and booked him in. This was easily one of the best decisions that we made for our entire wedding.
Nathan was absolutely incredible and we are so glad we had him as part of our day. He brought all the energy, passion, and professionalism that we expected, but so much more in terms of laughter, entertainment, creative ideas, expert advice, and keeping the reception and formalities moving so we stayed on track. He contacted and worked with all our other vendors to make sure everything was seamless for us, and put together a great runsheet. It was above and beyond what we expected. You can tell he loves what he does, and he is absolutely amazing at it.
Our guests have been raving about him. They thought he was what made the reception the success and awesome night that it was, he added that extra spark.
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him. You get way more than just a guy introducing people – you get atmosphere, constant entertainment, coordination.. he’s worth every cent.

What the
Wedding Wingman experience includes

Wedding reception flow design and run sheet planning
Your reception has a run of show whether you plan it or not — the difference is whether it lands smoothly. In the lead-up to your wedding, I work with you to map every moment: entrances, speeches, formalities, surprises, and the timing between them. The run sheet becomes the backbone of the night, and I carry it so you don’t have to.
This is not a template handed to you and forgotten. It is built around your day, your people, and the venue’s operational requirements.
MC hosting that keeps the room connected
A reception MC is not just a voice on a microphone — they are the active guide the room follows. I frame every moment, manage the energy between segments, and read the room in real time to protect the pace and feeling of the night. Guests always know what is happening and why, which keeps the room engaged rather than scattered.
Warm guidance, inclusive room work, and respectful humour keep the tone exactly where it needs to be: high-feeling without crossing into cringe.
Speaker and vendor coordination on the night
Every speech is set up before the speaker takes the microphone. I brief your speakers on timing, check in before they go on, and frame their introduction so the room is ready to listen. I also coordinate with your DJ or AV provider throughout the night, ensuring music cues, announcements, and transitions are tight and clean.
AV and music programming remain with your DJ or AV provider. I coordinate closely to keep the flow protected — not step on their role.

Yes, and for many couples, this is where the value becomes very clear. Booking Nathan as your Wedding Wingman means you also get on-the-day coordination included, without the cost or complexity of a separate hire. He coordinates with your DJ, AV provider, and venue team, keeps transitions and cues clean, and liaises on run sheet timing and service flow. The moving parts are managed. You just get to be the couple.
A wedding MC guides the reception program from the first welcome through to the close of the night, managing entrances, framing speeches, controlling pace and transitions, and keeping the room oriented and engaged. What that looks like in practice, however, depends heavily on who you book. Many MCs focus on announcements and handoffs, a valuable role, but a more limited one. Nathan Cassar operates as a Wedding Wingman: a comprehensive reception leader who manages flow, energy, real-time decisions, and vendor coordination, so the couple can be fully present and the room never loses its connection.
Calm, real-time problem-solving is built into the Wedding Wingman approach. When timelines shift or something unexpected happens, it is managed quietly without becoming visible to the room. You will not be asked to make major decisions on the night — that is part of what you are securing.
